A VERY RARE 1984 FORD RANGER XLT 2.2 PERKINS DIESEL EDITION FIRST GENERATION RESTO MOD OFFERED AT 5% BUYERS PREMIUM
American, late 20th century. A stunning example of post-modern automotive design and engineering painted in Highland Green, the same color as Ford's legendary BULLITT car, and juxtaposed coachwork fitted in peanut butter beige, all riding on Pacer chrome wheels and fresh B.F. Goodrich rubber. While the Ranger was never available with a diesel engine in the US. the similar Mazda B2200 was available with the bulletproof S2 engine, a Perkins-built 4.135, 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 44 kW (59 hp; 60 PS) at 2,100 rpm and traveling with efficiency of 35mpg while scooting through a 4-speed manual gearbox. This diesel engine was available overseas for the 1983 and 1984 Ford Ranger series. This rare international issue resto-mod model having under 15,000 miles on complete rebuild in 2007 by aeronautical engineer. Clear title, several dozen photos and documented maintenance records included with the purchase of this increasingly collectible mobile artwork.
