Marvel, including No. 5, No. 7, No. 9 and No. 11.
No. 5, 1964, has third appearance of Magneto and second appearance of Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Mastermind and Toad. No. 7, 1964, has first appearance of Cerebro and second appearance of the Blob. No. 9, 1965, has first appearance of Lucifer and the first meeting of the X-Men and the Avengers. No. 11, 1965, has first appearance of the Stranger.

    Condition:
  • NO. 5 is a good readable copy with covers in good condition but not glossy due to handling during reading, with spine in very good condition and fully attached. Interior of front & back covers good with foxing especially at the top edges of the interior and the lower corner of the back is creased. Interior pages off-white to yellowing. All pages present with no clippings.
    NO. 7 is in good readable condition with a bit of gloss left to both covers but certainly a bit dull from handling with fully attached spine, double-crease to the lower front corner and a 3/4" shallow bite at the top left corner of front cover and a similar smaller bite bottom edge of back cover right of center. Interior pages off-white to yellowing with very slight lower corner loss to the interior pages 1 - 13. All pages present with no clippings.
    No. 9 is in readable condition with barely any gloss to the cover, smaller than pea size hole below the 1st "E" in Avengers upper left below X-MEN, large soft fold crease lower corner of front, edges fairly good with a bit of roughness to the upper edges, very small tear nearly lost at lower corner of the front, small tear 4.5" up from bottom on outside edge of back cover, note the ink stamp to front cover at right edge just above center in the white sky that reads "NOV 12 REC'D", and spine hinge all attached but shows wear. Interior pages yellowing. All pages present with no clippings.
    No. 11 is in readable condition with not much gloss to the covers with good edges and corners, the interior with foxing especially at the edges, the spine is fully attached showing a bit of wear. Interior pages are off-white with just a bit of yellowing.

SHIPPING: Buyers are invited to pick-up purchased items at our auction location during regular business hours. Alternatively, buyers may arrange for shipping using a third party. Selkirk will provide a list of third party shippers. Selkirk does not have in-house shipping and thus asks all buyers to make their own shipping arrangements. Client Services is available to assist with shipping arrangements if the need arises. Purchasers utilizing shipping services will be charged by the company selected for packing, handling, postage and insurance. Selkirk is in no way responsible for the acts or omissions of independent contractors, packers or carriers of purchased merchandise. *Note: Regarding the shipment of firearms: please be aware that many restrictions apply to the international shipment of firearms, antique or otherwise. Ivory cannot be shipped outside of the USA. Your winning bid will not be canceled, rescinded, or retracted due to an international shipping limitation. It is your responsibility to resolve shipping issues PRIOR to bidding in this (or any other) auction. If you plan to pick up your items, please let Selkirk know as soon as possible, so that we can have them accessible.


STORAGE: Due to limited storage space for sold items, Selkirk requires that the arrangements for the pick-up or shipment of purchased items must be completed within 15 days of the auction unless other arrangements have been made. Please remember, once an item has sold, it is no longer covered by insurance and is stored at the owner's risk. A notice of 24 hours must be given before items are picked up. Selkirk reserves the right to charge a fee of $5 per day, per item, if not removed within the requested time frame. Items not removed after 60 days, may at the discretion of Selkirk, be sold without notice to the original purchaser, to cover the cost of the merchandise and/or storage charges. Items are stored at the buyer's risk.
